Keith Gay is a founding Partner and Senior Managing Director at Thomas Weisel Partners. Prior to his becoming Head of Research, Keith served as Associate Director of Research from 2005-2008 and as a Research Analyst following Applications Software from 2000 to 2005. From 1996 until 1999, he was a Managing Director and a Senior Research Analyst at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities, where he followed the Education and Training sectors. Before that, Keith was a Vice President in Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he covered the General Industrials sector. He entered the investment banking business following a 10-year career in the U.S. Air Force, where he was an Assistant Professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy Department.
JohnGrandy Associate Head of Research
John Grandy is Associate Head of Research at Thomas Weisel Partners, and is responsible for research product education and marketing across the TWP institutional sales force worldwide. He came to Thomas Weisel Partners in January 2008 as part of the Westwind Partners acquisition, after joining that firm in 2006. John is based in Toronto. Previously, he was a ranked analyst in Telecommunications Services, with 10 years of service at two leading independent Canadian brokerage firms. His most recent position was Deputy Director of Research at Orion Securities Inc. Prior to becoming an analyst in 1996, John had 15 years of experience with two of Canada’s domestic Chartered Banks, including five years in International Corporate Banking in Europe with The Bank of Nova Scotia, and nine years as a Managing Director with TD Bank and TD Securities Inc., based in Montreal. He received a B.A. degree from the University of Toronto and a M.Phil. from Oxford University, England.
