Blair Abernethy is a Technology Analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners, covering numerous leading software and IT services companies. He came to Thomas Weisel Partners in January 2008 as part of the Westwind Partners acquisition, after joining that firm in 2007. Blair is based in Toronto. Prior to entering the investment industry in 1999, he had 10 years of experience in finance roles as an asset manager with GE Capital and corporate banker with the Bank of Nova Scotia. Blair also worked for several years as an Engineer for Schlumberger. His educational background includes an MBA from the University of Toronto, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He obtained his CFA designation in 2001.
