Andrew Mikitchook is a Research Analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners, covering the precious metals sector, including gold, silver and platinum exploration and mining industries worldwide. He came to Thomas Weisel Partners in January 2008 as part of the Westwind Partners acquisition, after joining that firm in 2005. Andrew is based in Toronto. He has been ranked number one as measured by StarMine for industry excess return for the periods of October 1, 2005–September 30, 2006 and May 1, 2006–April 30, 2007. Before joining Thomas Weisel Partners, he worked at Haywood Securities for five years, starting as an associate in the mining research group and graduating to a mining analyst position. His prior experience includes two years in the mining industry working in international exploration in the FSU and Africa. Andrew received a B.Ap.Sc. degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Toronto and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
