Mark Quinlan is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Electronics & Applied Technologies Investment Banking at Thomas Weisel Partners and leads the Firm’s activity in the Semiconductor sector. Mark joined the firm in 2000 and is based in New York. He has over 13 years of investment banking experience and has worked on more than 100 completed transactions.
Mark has advised on numerous mergers & acquisitions including recent transactions involving Intel, JDS Uniphase, Microsemi, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments. Additionally, he has been involved with some of the semiconductor industry’s most exciting emerging companies as they have moved from private to public status, having completed IPOs for Atheros Communications, Cavium Networks, Hittite Microwave, SiRF Technology and Volterra among others. Mark and his team have completed numerous strategic financings for public clients, including follow-on offerings for FormFactor, Ikanos Communications, M-Systems and SanDisk as well as convertible debt offerings for PMC-Sierra, RF Micro Devices and SanDisk. Finally, Mark has advised on private placements for a number of companies including Cortina Systems, Peregrine Semiconductor and TranSwitch.
Prior to joining the firm, Mark was an Associate in the Investment Banking Division at Merrill Lynch. He earned an AB degree in Economics and Politics from Princeton University.
