The Associate Role:
The Investment Banking department annually recruits three to five recent graduates to join the Firm as associates in the San Francisco and New York offices. Associates are the keystone of all project teams, serving as a project manager taking guidance from senior bankers and managing and mentoring financial analysts. Associates work on small, client-focused teams within the Corporate Finance and M&A disciplines.

Associates often work on multiple transactions simultaneously and are primarily responsible for managing the analytical product created for clients, as well as overall deal process from origination to execution. Specific responsibilities include: analyzing companies' financial and operational performance, building financial models that incorporate historical results with future projections, developing client relationships, writing offering memorandums describing company's strategy and growth prospects, participating in road shows in support of transactions, and ultimately helping Thomas Weisel Partners' clients achieve their financial and strategic objectives.
